Spanish Street is the perfect location in the heart of the historic walking district of St. Augustine Florida. One block away in all directions are St. George Street, Cordova, Hypolita, and Cuna Street. All of which
are home to numerous boutiques, restaurants, coffee houses, art galleries, shops, museums, and historic sites. Just three blocks away is the scenic bay front where guests can enjoy a tour of the city's Old World charm, either by horse-drawn carriage or by a clipper ship along the shoreline. The evening air is filled with aromas from the
many area restaurants along with relaxing live music from the neighboring pubs and outdoor
dining establishments.
44 Spanish Street is a restored apartment house built in the early 1920's, lovingly converted to a Bed and Breakfast Inn in the fall of 2003. The design of the home offers guests time together in a more private atmosphere, or in the unique common areas,
a chance to socialize with others in the comfortable and hospitable setting of the house and grounds.
The Inn has both front and rear 2nd floor terraces, along with a vintage brick courtyard with seating. Outdoor seating is enjoyed year-round, and Spanish Street is great for "people-watching". Accommodations include 8 queen bedrooms. All rooms have private baths, with a "walk in" shower or whirlpool tub, (both standard as well as oversized tubs with combination shower) perfect for relaxing at the end of your memorable day in our charming city.
Every room features luxurious linens with white goose down comforters and relaxed sophisticated
style.
All rooms are equipped with ceiling fans, irons and ironing boards, cable TV, hair dryer, and central heat and AC.
In addition each room has either private or shared access to mini refrigerators, microwaves, and coffee makers. Full breakfast is served each morning in the courtyard dining room. Coffee, tea, and
cookies are available at all times. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to guests who bring laptops.
We offer free parking on a secure lot on Spanish Street, just a block north of the Inn. Unload your luggage at our front door, park your car in our secured lot, and enjoy your stay in St. Augustine's walking district.
St. Augustine's charming history is all around and life is enjoyed at a slower pace. Not only was the city established in 1565, but traces of the founding father of the hospitality industry in Florida, Henry Flagler is abundant in our city. Our Inn was constructed during the "Flagler-era" and reflects that welcoming period of architecture, rather than the earlier, more formal
Victorian age. We think our guests enjoy that sense of the more casual yet private feel of the property.
Innkeeper, Linda Larsen, recently purchased this home in December 2004, bringing 25 years experience in the hotel/resort industry to the project and looks forward to welcoming and pampering guests for many years to come. She has planned and managed entire conventions for hundreds of guests and has 20 years catering experience as well. Our in-room journals allow guests to express their comments and feelings during their stay, and a common theme is reflected overwhelmingly....they love Linda's breakfasts...and they love LIZZY, Linda's 5 lb. Yorkie!!
